BOTOX® AND DYSPORT®: WHAT TO EXPECT

Pain and discomfort are subjective. Experiences will vary.

BOTOX® and Dysport® are purified proteins which, after injected, temporarily block nerve signals that direct facial muscles to contract when making expressions. By limiting these muscles, the lines, folds, and wrinkles in the skin’s surface are prevented from forming. We make tiny injections in the treated area(s); the procedure is quick and simple, with minimal pain and downtime.

1. Consultation

Your clinician at SABBYA in Montreal will review your medical history to ensure a BOTOX® or Dysport® treatment is right for you. They will also take photos of the area(s) receiving treatment.

2. Preparation

The clinician will prepare the BOTOX® / Dysport® to be injected. We will also use a topical anesthetic to ensure your comfort.

3. Pre-injection

Your clinician will ask you to make a variety of facial movements, like squinting or smiling. After observing your expressions and wrinkles in the treatment area(s), they will mark the exact locations to be treated.

4. Injection process

After your clinician marks the treatment areas, they will inject the BOTOX® / Dysport® below the skin. A very small needle is used, which creates only minor discomfort.

5. Post procedure

A BOTOX® / Dysport® treatment can be completed in 15 to 30 minutes. We advise clients not to lie down or exercise for four hours after treatment. It is also important to avoid UV exposure for a week or two.
