Neuromodulators: BOTOX® and Dysport®
Neuromodulators like BOTOX® and Dysport® are used to smooth and prevent wrinkles on the face. Restore skin’s smoothness with neuromodulators. These neurotoxin injectable treatments are the most effective way to temporarily improve the appearance of wrinkles caused by repeated facial expressions like smiling, squinting, or frowning. Results are excellent in all age groups, softening existing lines and preventing new ones from forming.
These procedures are trusted and safe, with BOTOX® being the most popular cosmetics treatment in the world. Neuromodulators include ingredients that block the signal between nerve and muscle, thereby reducing their ability to contract and form wrinkles – creating a refreshed or relaxed appearance*. During your initial consultation, we will evaluate your wrinkles and determine an injection plan that best meets your desired goals.
Neuromodulators - BOTOX® and Dysport® have also been proven to treat excessive sweating from the underarms. Also known as hyperhidrosis, this affects approximately 1% of the population.
Neurotoxin treatments in the jaw muscle area can additionally support masseter reduction, helping to reshape and narrow the face as well as temporarily curing teeth grinding (also known as bruxism). Strong masseter muscles create the appearance of a wide jaw, producing a more square, masculine face. Through injections of BOTOX® and Dysport®, this can be softened to a more oval shape.
Scale of invasiveness and intensity: Most invasive. Requires application of numbing cream and downtime.

BOTOX® AND DYSPORT®: WHAT TO EXPECT
Pain and discomfort are subjective. Experiences will vary.
BOTOX® and Dysport® are purified proteins which, after injected, temporarily block nerve signals that direct facial muscles to contract when making expressions. By limiting these muscles, the lines, folds, and wrinkles in the skin’s surface are prevented from forming. We make tiny injections in the treated area(s); the procedure is quick and simple, with minimal pain and downtime.
Your clinician at SABBYA in Montreal will review your medical history to ensure a BOTOX® or Dysport® treatment is right for you. They will also take photos of the area(s) receiving treatment.
The clinician will prepare the BOTOX® / Dysport® to be injected. We will also use a topical anesthetic to ensure your comfort.
Your clinician will ask you to make a variety of facial movements, like squinting or smiling. After observing your expressions and wrinkles in the treatment area(s), they will mark the exact locations to be treated.
4. Injection process
After your clinician marks the treatment areas, they will inject the BOTOX® / Dysport® below the skin. A very small needle is used, which creates only minor discomfort.
5. Post procedure
A BOTOX® / Dysport® treatment can be completed in 15 to 30 minutes. We advise clients not to lie down or exercise for four hours after treatment. It is also important to avoid UV exposure for a week or two.
